Sweet Dreams

So something came up today in theology. We had Mr. Flood as a sub who is centuries old, with 14 kids and who is a seriously religious Republican. Everytime he subs, he allows us to anonymously write him any question we want and he'll answer them out loud. So us being high-schoolers, you get some pretty perverted ones from the guys, and today there was even one that asked "How do you feel about the maltreatment of midgets in Slovakia?" lol
Anyway, someone asked this crazy thought-provoking question that really got me thinking: "Is a person who has been blind from birth able to dream?".
At first I was like "DUH. Of course they can. Everyone dreams." But then I thought it over. In dreams we see images. We recall things that have happened in the past and we live out our inhibitions and deepest desires. How can someone's brain do such a thing when they've never seen anything in their life? They don't know colors or shapes. Maybe they do dream and they see everything like how they imagine the world. Maybe they see the world like how they feel and hear and smell it...putting their other senses together to create a picture of what they can't see in front of them.
According to Urban Dictionary, dreams are a shedding of the subconscious control that humanity has placed on you. In dreams nobody but yourself can impose limitation on you, and that which can be imagined, can be so. Maybe a blind person only dreams darkness, this overwhelming black hole that never ends. It's weird to think that some people might not have the capacity to dream. It makes me kind of sad actually. Cause could you honestly imagine your life without them?
Summery Weather

Soooooo, totally new layout. I really like how this one turned out. Andriana Lima is gorgeous.
In addition there is only around 15 more days left of school? We're all counting down to summer. You can tell as you walk the halls that there is anticipation everywhere and everyone has seriously started to slack off in classes.
People are always saying how fast the year went by but I don't feel like I should be having summer yet simply because it only recently got warm outside. The temperature has been at winter-type weather up until about two weeks ago, which is strange for Chicago. Probably due to global warming and greenhouse gas emissions and whatnot. Speaking of which (kinda), whatever happened to El Nino? I remember back when I was around 11 or 12 and all that you heard about on the news were the weird weather patterns that were caused by El Nino...and then I guess he got married cause then the Weather Channel started talking about La Nina.
So I decided to read up on the subject and found that El Nino and La Nina actually cause more precipitation, wind, and warmer weather. Which completely disproves my theory that, that was what was causing the immense amount of cold weather. I just don't buy into the global warming freak-out. I understand that we have to keep our world cleaner, especially the air that we breathe everyday, but I doubt that New York is going to freeze over or California will have tornadoes anytime soon (although The Day After Tomorrow probably isn't a very reliable source on the matter).
